Hawaii County is inviting residents to get tested for COVID-19, symptoms or not, today by Ali’i Health at Keauhou Shopping Center, behind Regal Cinemas. The testing goes from 9 til noon and there is no charge, though please do bring your insurance information if you have insurance. The County will cover all co-pays.
Hawaii County Mayor Harry Kim urges people to get tested to catch COVID-19 even in asymptomatic people so they know and can stay away from others and not continue the spread of the virus. Hawaii County has the second highest case number in the state, after O’ahu.
Please bring a pen, and a hard surface–clipboard, magazine–to make it easier to fill out your registration form. Please wear a mask. The testing is the deep nasal swab, and the technicians are experienced at the process to make it as easy as possible.
The island currently has 1,356 cases, with 343 active, and 24 new added just yesterday.
