The Hawai‘i House of Representatives is accepting job applications for the upcoming 2021 legislative session. Working at the Hawai‘i State Legislature offers individuals an opportunity to experience firsthand what it’s like to work in a dynamic public service organization, work closely with elected officials and the public, and learn more about the legislative process.
Session jobs require a 4-5 month commitment, depending upon the position. Most positions begin in January 2021 and end on the last day of the legislative session. There are several types of jobs available–legislative analyst, receptionist, clerk, data-entry clerk, service aide, and more.
Employees working 20 hours or more per week are eligible for health insurance including drug, dental and vision coverage.
The biggest stumbling blocks for neighbor island residents is having a place to live and a transportation plan on O’ahu. But James Gonser, Deputy Communications Director, says there are neighbor island residents among the staff. He says some live with friends or family.
To apply, email your resume, cover letter including the positions desired to resume@capitol.hawaii.gov. All resumes submitted will be available for review by the individual Representative and Agency Offices.
