The County is sponsoring free COVID-9 testing today at Keauhou Shopping Center until noon, with Ali’i Health conducting the testing. The tests are a PCR test–the deep nasal swab–and are considered almost 100% reliable if there is a positive result, although there can be false negative results–around 20%. It’s important for people with or without symptoms to get tested.
This afternoon, there be free COVID-19 testing at Afook Chinen Auditorium from 3 p.m until 6 p.m.
For all the testing:
- Please wear a mask
- Bring your own pen
- Bring a hard surface to make it easier to fill out the form–clipboard, magazine, etc.
- Bring insurance card if you have insurance. There is no co-pay charged to those who get tested.
Hawaii County Mayor Harry Kim has urged people to get tested, as the island’s COVID-19 cases have increased markedly in the last few weeks.
