Today was not a positive one for the state in its trend of COVID-19 case increases. The state added 131 new cases, bringing the total to 14,464 cases, with around 2,963 active.
O’ahu, with the biggest population added 67 cases, but the Big Island added 34, and Maui County added 29 new cases.
KHON2 is reporting that Lana’i (Maui County), which until last Tuesday had no cases, now has 49 confirmed cases, 3 of whom are students at Lana’i schools. Lana’i’s population is around 3,000 total.
One new case in an out-of-state resident was added. Kaua’i County added no new cases.
On the Big Island, with the 34 new cases, the total is now 1,154 cases, with 288 active cases.
The State Department of Health is reporting 209 confirmed deaths, which includes 28 of the Big Island’s 40 deaths.
