According to the Dashboard, the reported worldwide case report increased by 308,655 in the last 24 hours. Deaths worldwide increased by 5,241.
According to the Johns Hopkins Dashboard, the United States has added 57,319 cases in the last 24 hours. In that time, the number of reported deaths from COVID-19 increased by 752.
The highest profile COVID-19 patient in the country right now is President Donald Trump, who is being treated at Walter Reed Medical Center. His doctors this morning said he is doing well. Melania Trump also has COVID, and is being treated at the White House. Fox News is reporting that several U.S. Senators have also tested positive for COVID-19, and that the Senate will be in recess for two weeks.
Hawaii State Department of Health as of Friday was reporting a total of 12,601 cases statewide, with around 2,070 active cases. The daily case adds in the past few days have been down in double digits–87 yesterday–a positive trend. The Big Island added 16 cases on Friday, bringing the island’s total to 752, with 105 active (total cases of 752 minus 618 released from isolation minus the island’s 29 deaths). The State DOH is reporting 142 deaths in the state, but that counts only 15 of the Big Island’s deaths so far.
