The State Department of Health says the state’s 25th death is in an O’ahu man who was between 40 and 59 years old. State DOH says this is the fourth death from COVID-19 in people in this age range. His death was reported late Tuesday, said Health Director Dr. Bruce Anderson.
There have been 18 deaths on O’ahu, 6 deaths among Maui County residents, and one death of a Kaua’i resident who was in Arizona.
Hawaii is still the state with the lowest mortality rate from COVID-19. Previously the State DOH has said most deaths are in those considered elderly.
