As of 11am Tuesday, the center of Tropical Storm Douglas was approximately 2035 miles east of Hilo with sustained winds of 65 mph. Douglas is moving west-southwest near 15 mph. It is expected to turn more to the west this evening followed by a turn to west-northwest tomorrow. It is expected to intensify to hurricane strength later this evening.
It is too early to tell what impact, if any Douglas will have on Hawai’i, however we will be keeping a close eye on the storm and will provide updates on air and online. Visit www.kwxxweather.com for the latest tracking maps.
