The State Department of Health announced there are 4 new cases of COVID-19 today, all on O’ahu. The state’s total is 816. Yesterday the total was 814, but State DOH says it removed two cases from the total count. There are 147 active cases statewide.
Hawaii Island now has 3 active cases, according to DOH.
Although all people coming in from out of state are ordered to self-quarantine for 14 days (except for those exempted by the State), non-residents continue to fly in–for Kona Airport, more than 100 over the weekend, in addition to returning residents.
Interisland travel is now allowed with no 14-day quarantine, as of last Tuesday, June 16. State Department of Health has implemented procedures that will help monitor the health of travelers plus provide tracking information in case they either get sick themselves or come into contact with somebody who has or develops COVID-19. This is part of the contact tracing so critical to helping prevent unmanageable spread of COVID-19. For detail on the travel procedures, click here for a previous story.
