UHERO Research Fellow Ruben Juarez and collaborators from the John A. Burns School of Medicine are seeking volunteers who have tested positive for COVID-19 on or after April 10 to take part in a research study.
The researchers will examine the recovery and progression of individuals with COVID-19 in order to design better strategies for the recovery of other infected individuals.
The project is recruiting up to 100 participants who have tested positive over the last 60 days (anytime on or after April 10), and they cannot be pregnant. Volunteers will have blood drawn from their arm — 3-4 tablespoons–once a week for up to 6 weeks to measure the antibodies created after having COVID-19.
There are incentives of up to $150 per individual, but the main incentive for participants is to help their community come up with better strategies to mitigate the impacts of COVID-19
