Robert Redfield, Director of the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), says many of the Black Lives Matter protesters should get tested for COVID-19.
Testifying before a U.S. House House Appropriations subcommittee on Thursday, June 4, Redfield said in areas with large numbers of cases, where protesters were close to each other, they could easily pass the coronavirus. He said any large gatherings, social events as well as the protests, especially if people are not wearing masks and not staying 6 feet away from others, can be what he called “seeding events.” He said those in gatherings should get tested in 3, 5, or 7 days to protect the people with whom they live or are in close contact.
