In the state, the count of COVID-19 cases is at 643, and no new cases were reported on Sunday. Hawaii Island as of yesterday had 3 active cases, out of a cumulative for the island of 81.
As of Sunday, there were 5 active cases on O’ahu (414 cumulative), 13 active cases in Maui County (118 cumulative), and 1 on Kaua’i, although Kaua’i Mayor Derek Kawakami says there are no active cases on the island as one has left the island. There are 10 cases attributed to Hawaii on the mainland.
Business owners on Hawaii Island were relieved to hear that Mayor Harry Kim just before 6 p.m. on Saturday released a rule that will allow the reopening of places of worship, restaurants, food courts, hair salons, barber shops, andone-on-one services including, but not limited to: tutoring, music lessons, massage, yoga, Pilates, and personal training. All will have to implement social distancing and hygiene measures.
