The State Department of Health has announced that to date, 42,024 tests for COVID-19 have been conducted in the state. Of that, 41,335 were negative, 28 inconclusive, and 641 positive.
The State’s COVID-19 Joint Information Center said on Wednesday afternoon: “O’ahu and Hawai’i island each have a new positive coronavirus case according to the latest count from DOH. One of the cases is an adult and the other is a minor. The investigation of these cases is ongoing, and it’s not known whether either of the cases was travel-associated or community-associated.”
The Big Island currently has 79 cumulative cases, with 3 active, according to State DOH.
The previous two new cases on the Big Island, according to Hawaii County Mayor Harry Kim, were related to residents coming from California.
