There are no new cases of COVID-19 reported today, according to Hawaii State Department of Health. The Big Island and Kaua’i both have no active cases (although this State DOH report below shows one active case on Kaua’i, Mayor Derek Kawakami on his web site says that one person has left Kaua’i, so there are no active cases on island).
The State count is actually down one, to 637, as State DOH says one Hawaii resident who was out of state has been removed from the out-of-state total. As a note, the CDC requires that state reports include anybody whose primary residence is that state, even if they were diagnosed and are currently in another state.
There were no new cases reported on May 8, less than a week ago, and increases for the past two weeks have been in the single digits. Gov. David Ige, Lt. Gov. Dr. Josh Green, and State DOH Director have said the Hawaii COVID-19 curve is flat, but urge everybody to follow the now well-known precautions of mask-wearing, hand washing, surface washing, and physical distancing. The state is beginning to reopen businesses. State officials are also grappling with how to handle tourism, once the 14-day mandatory passenger arrival is lifted.

†Includes cases that meet isolation release criteria (Isolation should be maintained until at least 3 days (72 hours) after resolution of fever and myalgia without the use of antipyretics OR at least 10 days have passed since symptom onset, whichever is longer). The cases that have died and one case that has left the jurisdiction have been removed from these counts.
‡One case is a Lanai resident whose exposure is on Maui Island and who will be remaining on Maui Island for the interim.
§As a result of updated information, one HI resident diagnosed outside of Hawaii was removed from the counts.
