The Aloha Later Benefit Concert will air tonight at 9 p.m. on the KHON facebook page and at khon2.com/live-events, and be rebroadcast on television station KHII on Saturday, May 2, 7 p.m. until 8 p.m. (KHII is Channel 5 on Spectrum in West Hawaii).
The concert is being sponsored by the Hawaii Lodging & Tourism Association, and is intended to raise funds for furloughed hospitality workers and their families. It is also intended to remind everybody that this is the time to delay a vacation to Hawaii.
The concert features local and international performers or personalities who live in or have ties to Hawaii, including Olivia Newton-John, Jason Mraz, Raiatea Helm, Tua Tagovailoa, Robert Cazimero, Alice Cooper, Kapena, Jake Shimabukuro, and more.
Mufi Hannemann, President & CEO of the HLTA, says people will be able to call and purchase an Aloha Later ribbon ($20) which will have a redemption code and be sent by mail. The code can be used to redeem one discount per participating vendor and will be valid after the threat of COVID-19 has passed and state and county travel and quarantine orders have been lifted.
Call (808) 234-7245 to speak with a friendly Aloha Later volunteer to make your donation, receive an immediate coupon code, and confirm your mailing address. They will quickly mail your ribbon and coupon.
The funds you donate from your Aloha Later ribbon purchase go to relief for furloughed hospitality workers and their families, the backbone of our tourism industry.
