The United Kingdom’s Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, was released from the hospital on Sunday, after a week at St. Thomas’ Hospital in London. Johnson was admitted after suffering from severe symptoms of COVID-19. Johnson said the National Health Service and its dedicated personnel saved his life. He said things could have gone either way.
Johnson will continue his recuperation and not immediately return to work, on the advice of his medical team.
Johnson posted his message of thanks and encouragement to his country to continue the proper practices to fight COVID-19 on Twitter.
It is hard to find the words to express my debt to the NHS for saving my life.
The efforts of millions of people across this country to stay home are worth it. Together we will overcome this challenge, as we have overcome so many challenges in the past. #StayHomeSaveLives pic.twitter.com/HK7Ch8BMB5
