The State Department of Health has released the latest COVID-19 count for the state, with 16 new cases reported since Sunday, for a total of 387 confirmed COVID-19 cases. There have now been a total of 5 deaths. The latest death was announced by Mayor Michael Victorino as being a resident of Maui County. Victorino said it was an older man with underlying health issues.
One of today’s cases is a minor. State Health Director said 339 of those with COVID-19 are Hawaii residents, and 26 are visitors.
DOH says 89 people have been released from isolation, and 26 people have required hospitalization.
According to State DOH, Hawaii County has had 23 cases, one additional since Sunday, with 9 released from isolation. The report also notes that 9 of the cases are not confirmed to a specific county.
