Hawai’i Island residents, in adhering to the Governor’s order to “stay at home, work at home” and to implement social distancing–staying six feet apart–aren’t going to island restaurants. Most island restaurants are not offering dine-in service. But a number of island restaurants are open and doing business for takeout or delivery. The Hawaii Agricultural Foundation, always promoting eating local, has now focused on creating a web site to help people know where they can order food for their home dining.
The web site is www.foodagogo.org
By clicking on Hawaii Island in the search menu, a list of most Hawaii Island restaurants offering this service will come up. (If you are a restaurant that is open and is not on the site, contact the organization at info@foodagogo.org
Learn more about it via this video with Chef Roy Yamaguchi.
As they say in the video…if can, please can! The goal is to keep our island restaurants afloat during this challenging time, recognizing we are all in this together.
