KBXtreme in Kona announced Sunday that they will be offering a Wiki Student Lunch Program beginning Monday, March 23rd to help provide affordable lunches for K-12 students that rely on daily student for a part of their daily nutrition.
They released the following press release to announce the program.
PRESS RELEASE
Due to the extended spring break, beginning Monday, March 23rd KBXtreme will be starting a Wiki Student Lunch Program. This is exclusively a drive-up/walk-up service to assist our community with the nutritional needs of our pre-K thru 12th grade students that rely on the lunch they receive while at school for daily nutrition.
We have partnered with our wonderful friends at Y. Hata & Co. who have helped us to subsidize these meals and provide them at our cost and near the same price students would have paid at school. We are hoping this will offer many families an affordable way to feed their children during this pandemic and time of hardship.
Please help us in spreading the word of this program, of which the details are listed below. Additionally, we are still serving our full menu for take-out and curbside service only. You may view our menu and place an order online at www.kbxtreme.com/eat, or by calling 808-326-2695, option 2.

WHY:
Over 30 million children nationally rely on the National School Lunch Program for daily nutrition. For many of those students, the school lunch may be the only meal that have that day. We will do our best to fulfill the demand for the program and make adjustments as needed. We are taking extraordinary steps in sanitizing our facilities, ensuring our staff are observing proper hygiene, and making hand sanitizer available for use to our customers.
This is a fluid and rapidly changing time, and we will continue to monitor the daily recommendations of our government officials and the CDC and make adjustments as needed. Please stay safe and healthy.
